White Fury Insurance
While it is your responsibility to be safe at training we do provide limited insurance coverage.
We have had students participating in other sports such as basketball, soccer, cycling and football who miss out on training martial arts due to injuries from these other sports. Our in-house joke is that it is safer to train extreme sports like martial arts.
On a serious note, it is up to the individual to advise of any pre-injury condition and to be responsible in their training and respectful of others. Fair play is a priority and lack of discipline in this area is not tolerated. You need to provide your own safety gear and wear the consequences of your own actions as no responsibility is assumed on your behalf. This is considered an extreme sport so if you think you would be at risk we suggest you try Tai Chi instead.
What to expect at White Fury on your first night
We would rather you start training and then decide if this is the sport is for you so there is no need to buy uniforms or equipment up front. If you decide to train then there are uniforms that you can purchase but while you are deciding feel free to wear your own gear.
What to wear when you first turn up:
- Wear comfortable shorts and shirt that you can move in.
- No need for uniform till your first grading.
- As a priority, you provide your own personal gloves, mouth guard and shin pads
- You provide hand and kick pads and uniform as required.

Instructors will advise you of their title and students are to use titles to address instructors. For beginners you will be told your instructors name and title when you join.
Never walk in front of the path of a higher rank this is considered disrespectful – always walk behind. At the start and end of class, all students line up facing the instructors. This is done according to rank (highest students left to right). The purpose of the line up is to bow into and out of the class for training. For karate, the bow is from the waist with hands by your side. For Muay Thai this is hands together as in prayer motion positioned just below the chin and a bow of the head.
No shoes are to be worn on the Dojo floor and students are to bow respect upon entering and leaving the Dojo. Permission is required from the chief instructor to join a class if you are running late or to leave the training floor. Drink breaks will be provided so that you stay hydrated.
